WORLD COMMUNION SUNDAY
Sunday October 1 is World Communion Sunday. On this day our church, along with millions of other Christian churches, will celebrate communion as a testimony of the faith in Jesus Christ which we all share. This offering supports scholarships for graduate national and international students and ethnic scholarships for undergraduate students. Giving to education helps those students go to college and change the world. If your passion in ministry is to support education, please support this offering generously.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
NOTE---CHANGES FOR 2017 (NO KIND OF CANDY, NO TOOTHPASTE, NO PAINT SETS, GUM OR GLUE)

The Outreach Committee decided we would not have supplies brought to the church this year. Each person would fill his own box or boxes. We will sign the boxes out on Sunday, October 1 and they should be returned to the church November 5. You need to plan for a boy or girl 2-4 years old, 5-9 years old or 10-14 years old. If you don’t want to do a box and would like to help with the shipping fee of $7.00 per box, you can make out a check to the church, mark your church envelopes for SHOE BOXES and put it in the offering plate. Thank you!!

MERRIE RINGERS
Handbell choir again!

The Merrie Ringers will resume rehearsals this fall on Monday, October 9. As in the past, we will practice at 6:00 PM in the sanctuary. Many of our seasoned ringers will be returning, but we are also looking for some additional folks to join us. If you are interested, please talk to any of our present handbell choir members. We had a successful season last year and looking forward to another uplifting year!

NEED FOR UPDATED INFORMATION
Since our last Church Directory was published in 2015, we are in need of updated information on addresses, phone numbers and email addresses. Would you please check, change or complete and INITIAL the list of information in the Narthex or call the church office to verify your current information? Also, if you have any addresses for military, college or others, please share that too. Thank you in advance for your help!

PRECIOUS TREASURES NEEDS
With the cold weather coming, Precious Treasures is in need of hats, gloves, tissues and coloring books. All donations will be appreciated. There is a box in the Narthex for these items.

ALL-SAINTS’ SUNDAY
We will observe All-Saints’ Sunday on November 5, this year. During this service the Roll of the Honored Dead will be read as a candle is lit and a chime sounds for those members who have gone to be with God in this past year. Additionally, there will be a time when those attending can say a name of another person they are missing on that day and a chime will ring for those names. This is one of the most meaningful services of the church year as we remember our brothers and sisters of this church family.

ANNUAL CHURCH CHARGE CONFERENCE
The Annual Church Conference of our church will be held on Monday, November 6, 7:00 PM at Isleta UM Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Bradley Call, who will provide devotions. This meeting required by the Discipline of the church is a chance for our church to evaluate our ministry.

BOOK CLUB
The Book Club will meet next on Thursday, November 16, 7:00 PM in the Oak Street Room. The book is “Waves of Mercy” by Lynn Austin. You are invited to read the book and come for a good discussion.
